Where Every Voice Matters

The following script is from the video embedded in this blog where you will hear from the moderator of the DiepCFoundation Breast Symposium 2026, where every voice matters.

**In early June we will announce the link and sign up for the online option of attending the Symposium.

Dr. Chrysopoulo here from PRMA plastic surgery in San Antonio, Texas. Most medical meetings share information. The best ones change how care though, is actually delivered.

The DiepCFoundation Breast Symposium is one of those rare meetings where patients, surgeons, and advocates are all in the same room. For patients, this means direct access; not filtered and not second-hand. Real conversations with experts and with others who’ve actually been through it before, leading to a clearer understanding and more confident decisions for you.

For Physicians and care teams it creates real time feedback; a feedback loop, in essence, not just clinical outcomes but patient perspectives that improve how we communicate, how we counsel our patients, and ultimately how we deliver care.

This is where shared decision-making actually works. It’s built on clarity, on context and lived experience. Because when patients truly understand their options they make decisions that their far more confident in and less likely to regret.

So, if you’re a patient or someone supporting someone with breast cancer  I’d strongly encourage you to join us in person or online. Be part of the conversation. Make sure your decisions are fully informed.

Last year’s inaugural Symposium was a resounding success, and I’m thrilled to share that this year I’ll be back, this time moderating three panels with colleagues from across the U.S. covering surgical innovation and patient-centered care. I’m very excited to be part of this extremely valuable event as DiepC continues to advocate for patients across the U.S. and beyond.

Hope to see you all in Seattle!

Honoring Individual Voices and Building Community Together in Seattle

As the developer of the DiepCFoundation Breast Symposium, I want to extend my deepest thanks to Dr. Minas Chrysopoulo for returning as our 2026 moderator. His encouragement in 2016 inspired me to open DiepCFoundation. His mentorship continues to guide me as we work to educate a global patient community. Standing beside me once again, he helps bring this Symposium to Seattle creating a space where every individual is seen, every voice matters, and our shared commitment to patient‑centered care grows stronger.

Terri, you can really feel the respect and intention behind what you’ve created with the Symposium. The emphasis on real dialogue and lived experience comes through so clearly here. Marie Ennis-O’Connor
